LONDON – A Canadian company has launched a service that delivers chocolate cake from London to London’s biggest city, offering customers a taste of a traditional British treat.
The service, called Blueberry Cake Delivery, is available in both Canada and the U.S. The service is a mix of delivery trucks and delivery couriers who will transport the cake from one of the city’s iconic landmarks to the next.
“It’s a unique way of doing things, and one that’s been around for quite some time,” said Andrew Jones, the company’s president.
“We wanted to bring a Canadian flavor to the London experience.”
Blueberry Cake delivers the cake by truck or courier to London and delivers it in a customized blue box that’s wrapped in red paper, according to a news release from the company.
It takes about three to four days to deliver the chocolate cake to the customer, and takes up to three weeks to deliver it to the courier.
The delivery service has been popular in the U.
“We’re delivering it to people in Canada for the past four months and it’s actually taken off,” said Mr. Jones.
Blueberry has been operating for nearly a decade, and its service is only available in the British capital.
Mr. Jones says the company has received over 100 orders so far.
It has also been offering deliveries in London’s West End.
“There are many people who have been coming here, wanting to try the delivery service,” he said.
“It’s certainly a big hit for the city and a big success for us.”
Mr. Davis says he believes Blueberry’s service is one that will attract new customers and could prove to be a success for the region.
“I’m not sure the city is prepared for this kind of thing, and the demand for it is great,” he added.
