You can always use your favorite flour for this cake recipe.
To make your cake, melt the butter in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Whisk until well combined.
Add the butter and brown sugar to the flour mixture and mix.
Stir to combine.
Add the baking soda and baking salt and mix until well blended.
Add all of the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until well incorporated.
Add water as needed to create a soft dough.
Form into a 1 1 /4-inch thick loaf pan and pipe the batter onto the pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when tapped with a fork.
Let cool completely before frosting.
To frost the cake, place an ice cube tray in a freezer-safe bowl.
Pour in the melted butter and frosting mixture and whisk until smooth.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
