Ingredients 1 1/2 cups flour 1 1 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp baking soda 1/3 cup chocolate chips, chopped (optional) 1/5 cup butter, melted (optional; but still meltable) 3 large eggs 1 1.5 cups powdered sugar (optional – to add a bit more flavor) Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a cake tin with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, beat together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and chocolate chips.
Beat in the butter until light and fluffy.
Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat the dry ingredients together well.
Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients.
Mix well until smooth and combined.
Add a little more flour if needed.
If you want a little thicker batter, add a little bit more flour.
Roll dough out to about 1/6-inch thickness and place in the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Allow cake to cool completely before cutting into squares.
